Enhanced First Contact Rules Notes

New counterparts - In the Star Trek: The Next Generation(tm) episode "Parallels," we learned of an alternate quantum reality where the Borg Collective had overrun the Alpha Quadrant. This glimpse into the "multiverse" leads us to the distressing - but inescapable - conclusion that there are countless parallel universes in which the major empires of the Alpha Quadrant have fallen to the Borg. With official authorization from Paramount Pictures, Decipher has created powerful new counterpart cards in Enhanced First Contact which extend the "Parallels" storyline.

Remember, your Collective is limited to one counterpart in play at a time, even if that counterpart has an alternate universe icon.

Incident cards - A new card type. Incident cards play as your normal card play, just like an Event or Objective card. You may have any number of Incident cards in play at the same time, even when playing Borg.

Overlays - Each of the four different packages of Enhanced First Contact includes a free transparent Borg assimilation overlay. Each overlay designates an assimilated personnel's new subcommand and attributes, while reminding you that their former classification is now their first-listed skill. Simply place the appropriate overlay on top of an assimilated personnel, slip both into a card sleeve, and voila - instant Borg. (Overlays are not required for assimilating personnel, and do not count as cards in your game deck.)
