The History of Star Trek CCG: Enhanced Premiere
|
May 10, 2004
The second (and last) Enhanced product for the game, Enhanced Premiere
provided a core of essential cards to implement sealed-deck play with Premiere
boosters in the Warp Speed format a fast format with a short spaceline
and simplified rules. The premium cards all had an underlying "two
cards in one" theme: dual-personnel cards, combo dilemmas, and missions
that included an outpost or a built-in wormhole.

Factoids
- Two of the space Mission IIs corrected locations that had been misspelled
on the original Premiere cards: Explore Typhon Expanse (not Typhone) and
Investigate Sighting's Beta Stromgren (not Stromgen).
- Each of the three planet Mission IIs had one more affiliation icon than
its Premiere counterpart one each Bajoran, Cardassian, and Ferengi
giving those relatively mission-poor affiliations access to additional
missions.
- No rules sheet was included in the packages, but it was available online
in PDF, in two parts: the Enhanced Premiere rules (for using combo dilemmas
and Mission II cards) with a premium card list, and the rules for the
new Warp Speed format. Links are provided below to both rules sheets,
including both the original Warp Speed rules and the updated version that
accommodated the Voyager Warp Speed format.
Notable Cards
Romulan fans as well as Jean-Luc Picard and Data fans had
waited for a long time for Romulan versions of these characters from the
Unification episodes. While many expected dual-affiliation versions, the
dual-personnel Data and Picard had not been anticipated by most. A pair
of CIVILIANS with android STRENGTH and CUNNING and a unique mix of skills
(including ENGINEER and Astrophysics for space missions and Anthropology
and Archaeology for planet missions), swappable with a whole range of other
personas, held intriguing possibilities.
