Fractured, Foiled, and Fantastic: What's Coming for Star Trek CCG
Do temporal mechanics give you a headache? Are you in a reflective mood?
Do you want to seek out new life and new civilizations? Even before the
release of Necessary Evil, Star Trek CCG fans were eagerly awaiting
news of the future of their favorite game. With the license recently extended
through 2006, our designers have been refining plans for that future, and
we're now happy to announce what's in store in the coming months.
First up, of course, is Fractured Time. This 40-card expansion will range
through the past, present, and future of the Star Trek universe,
crossing the boundaries of parallel universes and timelines. New characters
and mechanics will feature images from all five live-action Star Trek
series. From the Second Edition debut of James T. Kirk to the first Star
Trek: Enterprise character Daniels to the return of the
"Future Enterprise" version of the U.S.S. Enterprise-D,
Fractured Time is packed with all your favorite space/time-bending episodes.
A new Decay keyword introduces a "countdown" mechanic,
and new icons will categorize "alternate universe" cards as past,
future, or alternate reality.
The best part is that you'll get the complete 40-card set, three booster
packs (one each of Second Edition Premiere, Energize, and Call to Arms)
and a random starter deck (from either Premiere or Call to Arms), and a
full-color collector's card box, in one neat package for just $39.95 (MSRP).
Watch for Fractured Time to hit the streets on August 25, 2004.
Next, we'll wrap up this tenth anniversary year with a very special product
Reflections: The Second Five-Year Mission. Similar to previous Decipher
Reflections products, booster packs of The Second Five-Year Mission will
contain two premium foils plus 16 random cards from previously released
Second Edition products. The foils will include both brand-new gameplay
cards and foiled reprints of selected Necessary Evil cards. Anticipated
release date is early December 2004. We'll bring you more news about Reflections
as plans are finalized.
And on into 2005, beginning with a journey to Strange New Worlds, a full-size
expansion set scheduled for an April release. A second full-size expansion,
as yet unnamed, is planned for later in the year.
Fractured Time, Reflections, Strange New Worlds, and more... come along
with us as we boldly go into the future of Star Trek CCG.
